Makati Business Club, Inc.
On May 11, 2010, the Filipino people will once again choose the leaders of the Republic of the Philippines. The coming elections is our chance to usher in a new era of governance, one that is marked by transparency and accountability and one that is marked by officials who would put the welfare of the citizens above their own selfish interests.
It is imperative therefore, that we ensure the integrity of the coming elections. We must ensure that those who will take their place in the hallowed halls of public office are the rightful representatives of the people. Indeed, the very hallmark of a democracy is the people's collective right to elect only the leaders they feel can best represent their needs.
With Makati Business Club, Inc as our partner, AFUSA is accepting donations to support Clean and Honest Elections in the Philippines in 2010 through the MBC Democracy Trust Fund. The donations will go to organizations like NAMFREL (National Movement for Free Elections) and other organizations that promote activities such as voter's education and election monitoring with the support thousands of poll watchers and volunteers all over the country.
